AFRICAN MASTER

We already started a new project that would be aimed at learning, teaching and working in Zanzibar. It would be consisting of two parts:

1. Organization of volunteer work in Zanzibar, where you can learn the everyday customs of the Zanzibari, help with the children, teach them, assist in hospitals, help the elderly, etc.

2. Organization of courses and trainings in schools and hospitals, survival sessions, etc.:

? Live in a local house with the Zanzibari and learn their customs, cuisine, everyday duties,
? Learn to speak Swahili,
? Learn the history of Zanzibar,
? Explore local environment and maritime flora and fauna,
? Study local plants and spices,
? Learn how to play the drums,
? Learn a traditional African dance,
? Go scuba diving,
? Explore the wildlife, habitat and tribes during a safari,
? Learn traditional women customs ? oils, scents, henna, etc.,
? Learn traditional ways to build a house from coral,
? Try African cuisine and cooking,
? Climb Kilimanjaro,
? Work in a village, help on a plantation and at coconut manufacture,
? Teach the rules of European life to the Zanzibari children,
? Teach English,
? Take part in a traditional Zanzibari wedding ? Muslim or Christian.

The programm would cost approximately USD 1800 per person for a 3-month stay.


The programm is organized in Vanilla House in Jambiani village, Zanzibar, Tanzania.

Costs borne by the participants:

  • flight tickets (approx. USD 800)
  • accommodation (USD 10 per day)
  • meals (USD 10 per day)
  • visas: USD 50

The programm will be supported by the many organization from Zanzibar and after a 3-month training the participants will get several certificates.
